Swindon Man Jailed for Dangerous 100mph Police Chase
High-Speed Escape Ends in Prison
Daniel Usher, 45, from Swindon, has been handed 26 months behind bars after a terrifying police chase that saw him race through residential streets at over 100mph. Usher fled from officers despite them using lights and sirens to stop him, pushing through areas with 20mph limits on Queens Drive.
Chase Recklessly Endangers Lives
The pursuit caused significant damage and put countless lives at risk. When police finally caught Usher, the full scale of his dangerous driving became clear. The court slammed his actions, underlining the threat he posed to public safety.
Long Ban and Thousands in Compensation
Besides his jail term, Usher faces a driving ban of four years and one month. He must also pay a hefty £13,650 in compensation, reflecting the severity of his reckless behaviour.
“His dangerous driving showed a blatant disregard for safety,” said the judge. “The sentence is a fitting response to the risks he caused.”
