Tragic Discovery in Cromwell Road

Emergency services rushed to a property on Cromwell Road at 6.23pm, where a woman, believed to be in her late teens, was sadly pronounced dead. Although formal identification is pending, her next of kin have been informed. A forensic post-mortem will determine the exact cause of death.

Investigation Underway, Police Hold Strong Presence

The teenager was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody. The Major Crime Investigation Team has launched a full probe, with a police cordon still in place as detectives carry out initial inquiries.

Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: “Tragically, a young woman has lost her life and our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this devastating time. Specialist family liaison officers are supporting them and will keep them updated.”

She added: “There will be a large police presence over the coming days during our investigation. We believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no wider threat to the public.”
