A 19-year-old predator has been jailed for coercing dozens of children into sending explicit images. Cory Jones targeted 37 youngsters aged 10 to 16, grooming them through fake accounts and his real identity on social media.
How He Tricked and Controlled His Victims
Jones didn’t just demand explicit photos and videos; he also sent sexual material of himself to the kids. When they refused, he blackmailed them, threatening to share their images online unless they complied. Police later uncovered 172 indecent images of children on his phone.
Shocking Scale of Abuse Exposed in Court
Jones admitted guilt to 69 charges, including blackmail, causing children to engage in sexual activity, and distributing indecent images. His offending spanned from September 2022 until November 2024.
- 27 counts of sexual communication with a child
- 14 counts of causing a child to watch sexual acts
- 5 counts of blackmail
- and several other offences
Eight Years Behind Bars and Lifetime Monitoring
On 17 October 2025, Cory Jones was sentenced to eight years in prison at Cardiff Crown Court. He was also slapped with a lifelong sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender.
“Cory Jones was deceptive and manipulative, coercing children to satisfy his own sexual gratification,” said Lisa McCarthy from the CPS. “We thank the victims for their courage and will continue to use the full force of the law against child sexual offenders.”
Jones comes from Ynyswen, Rhondda. Reporting restrictions remain in place.
