Teen Claims He ‘Doesn’t Remember’ Sickening Hammer Attack at Elite Devon School
A 16-year-old boy on trial for a brutal hammer assault at prestigious Blundell’s School in Tiverton, Devon today stunned Exeter Crown Court by saying he has “no memory” of the terrifying attack that left two pupils and a teacher fighting for their lives.
Armed with Three Claw Hammers, Attackers Wreak Havoc in Boarding House
The court heard the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly armed himself with three claw hammers last June. In the early hours, he launched a savage strike on two boys and a teacher in the school’s boarding house.
The victims suffered horrific injuries: skull fractures, broken ribs, punctured lungs, and internal bleeding.
‘I Woke Up in a Room Covered in Blood’ – Defence Shocker
In a bizarre twist, the boy claimed during the hearing that he was only in his boxers during the attack and has no recollection of what happened. Representing himself, he described waking up in a blood-soaked room and only realising something was wrong once he found himself wandering the corridor.
When grilled on his motives, he revealed odd details – admitting he kept two hammers by his bed to “protect” himself from a zombie apocalypse inspired by TV show The Walking Dead. He also confessed a fascination with serial killers after watching Dexter and admitted to researching prison sentences “just out of curiosity.”
Claims of Sleepwalking and Innocence Amid Harrowing Charges
Despite facing attempted murder charges, the teen insists he was sleepwalking when the attacks occurred. He described feeling “scared and anxious” after his arrest and said he only withheld cooperation during police interviews on legal advice.
The trial has gripped the public as prosecutors paint a grim picture of the night’s violence. Meanwhile, the defence argues the teen’s actions were involuntary, driven by sleep disorders and disturbing hallucinations.
With further testimonies awaited, the court will soon decide the fate of the accused and bring some closure to the victims of this shocking incident.
