Teen Jailed After Brutal Brighton Stabbing
A 17-year-old boy has been locked up after admitting to stabbing a 37-year-old woman in Brighton.
Victim Hospitalised with Serious Head Injury
The attack took place on Saturday, May 25. The woman was rushed to hospital with a serious head wound and remains in a stable condition.
Police acted swiftly. The suspect was arrested on Monday, May 27, following ongoing enquiries.
Charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and Weapon Possession
The teen faced court the next day and pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a weapon in public.
Reports suggest the youth launched the attack after the victim glanced at him while walking across the street.
He is now remanded in juvenile detention, awaiting sentencing on June 12.
Detective’s Warning on Knife Crime

“This stabbing underlines the devastating impact of knife crime in our communities and the urgent need to tackle the issue.”
“We thank the public for their support during our investigation and urge anyone concerned about someone carrying a knife to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
