Teen Jailed for Brutal 14-Second Murder of 14-Year-Old Jaden Moodie
A teenager has been locked up for life after a savage 14-second attack that left 14-year-old Jaden Moodie dead in east London. Ayoub Majdouline, 19, from Wembley, was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Wednesday 18 December to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 21 years.
Ruthless Gang Hunting Ends in Fatal Stabbing
Majdouline was found guilty on 11 December of murder and possession of an offensive weapon following a chilling trial. Jaden was targeted while riding his moped in Leyton shortly before 6.30pm on 8 January. A black Mercedes deliberately rammed his bike head-on at Bickley Road, throwing him onto the bonnet and knocking off his helmet. Seconds later, four masked men jumped out.
In a frenzied assault lasting just seven seconds, Majdouline — wearing yellow rubber gloves — and two accomplices stabbed Jaden nine times as he lay helpless on the street. The attackers then sped away, leaving him to bleed out. Despite desperate efforts from emergency crews and bystanders, Jaden was pronounced dead at 7.09pm.
Forensic Breakthroughs Pinpoint Majdouline
- The stolen Mercedes was found abandoned nearby the next day, damaged and dumped.
- Bloodied knives and yellow gloves were recovered from drains close to the car.
- Forensic tests linked the blood and DNA back to Jaden and Majdouline.
- CCTV showed Majdouline buying a drink minutes after the attack, still wearing key items from the crime.
- Burnt clothes matching Majdouline’s attire were discovered days later near the crime scene.
Police arrested Majdouline at his home on 19 January. He refused to answer questions during interviews and was charged that same day.
Family’s Heartbreaking Tribute & Police Pledge Justice
Jaden’s mother Jada said: “Jaden was a loving, caring, family-oriented boy. He dreamed of being a mechanic, obsessed with cars and bikes. He showed kindness beyond his years, caring about the homeless.”
“How do I live without him after this terrible, barbaric attack? I feel like it’s a nightmare I can’t wake up from.”
Detective Inspector Dave Hillier slammed the cold-blooded killers: “Majdouline showed no remorse for stabbing a defenceless 14-year-old nine times in seconds. His gang set out that evening looking to cause harm — and they succeeded in taking a life.”
Hillier urged witnesses to come forward: “We know there were five men involved. Our investigation continues until all those responsible are caught. Anyone with info, no matter how small, should contact us or use anonymous lines like Crimestoppers.”
Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Tucker added: “Jaden’s tragic death shocked Leyton. He was a child with his whole life ahead. We need to challenge knife crime and work together to stop more lives being lost.”
Ongoing Investigation
The Met is still hunting the other suspects. Two men arrested earlier remain under investigation but not charged.
