Man Slashed in Moreton Hall Horror
Police rushed to a stabbing in Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds, at around 10.15pm on March 22. A man in his 40s was stabbed and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition is now stable.
Masked Attackers Flee Scene
Five suspects, dressed in dark clothes and face coverings, made a swift getaway. Detectives believe it was a targeted attack, ruling out any danger to the wider community.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigations
- Sebastian Smith, 47, was nabbed in south east London on April 2 and brought to Suffolk for questioning.
- Smith appeared charged at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on April 4.
- A 44-year-old Brixton man was released on bail after two arrests on suspicion of murder.
- A 38-year-old man is also on bail following a March 30 arrest for the same charge.
Police Crackdown Continues
Detectives seized three Nissan vehicles thought to be linked to the attackers. Officers urge anyone with info to contact Bury St Edmunds Police quoting reference 37/16423/26 via their website, call 101, or use Crimestoppers.
Smith is due to face Ipswich Crown Court on May 5.
