Shoplift Shock: Staff Attacked in Bold Tesco Heists
Kent Police are hunting after a spate of brazen thefts at Tesco on Farleigh Hill. Between 18 August and 25 September 2023, goods worth over £500 vanished during four shoplifting incidents. But it gets worse — in two of those cases, staff were reportedly assaulted as suspects made their getaway.
Violence Erupts at Loose Road Shops
Tensions flared on 4 September at 1 in Loose Road when two employees were allegedly attacked trying to stop a man entering the premises. Then, on Sunday 24 September, a shop worker was reportedly abused while intervening following another theft at the same spot.
Suspect Nabbed After Co-op Candy Caper
Patrols from the local neighbourhood task force swooped on 25 September after sweets were stolen from the Co-op in Loose Road. They arrested 38-year-old Joseph Daniels from College Road, maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone, who now faces a slew of charges.

- A public order offence
Daniels appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 28 September. He was bailed with strict conditions until his next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 16 May 2024.
