Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed Sleeping on Sofa
Police Raid Nets Crack and Heroin
Andrea Brown, 41, was found fast asleep on a sofa during a dawn raid by Kent Police’s County Line and Gang Team in Margate. Officers swooped on a Surrey Road property at around 6am on Wednesday 15 July 2020, as part of a crack-down on drug supply.
Under the pillows where Brown had been resting, cops discovered 48 wraps of class A drugs including crack cocaine and heroin.
Evidence Links Brown to Margate Drug Line
Police seized Brown’s mobile phone and later uncovered it was tied to a known drug network operating in the area. Her purse, containing £170 in cash, was also taken as criminal property.
Five Years and Seven Months Behind Bars
Originally from Nightingale Place in Greater London, Brown pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack and heroin, as well as possession of criminal property.
She was sentenced to five years and seven months in prison at 1 Crown Court on Friday 5 March 2021.
Zero Tolerance to County Drug Dealers
“The misuse of drugs has a detrimental impact on people’s lives and can lead to all types of crime, which is why we will continue to do all we can to disrupt its supply within our communities,” said Detective Constable Jake Griffiths.
“Criminals like Brown typically look to expand outside London, travelling to counties like Kent to find new customers. We take a zero-tolerance approach and work closely with neighbouring forces to target offenders and bring them to justice.”
