Tragedy on Tilbury Road: Passenger Dies in Fatal Van Crash
Police have named Douglas Edgar, 25, who died after a crash involving a van and a stationary HGV on Tilbury’s A1089 Dock Approach Road.

The smash happened shortly after 3.35pm on Monday, 21 September. A blue Volkswagen Crafter van slammed into a stationary heavy goods vehicle while heading towards the A13.
Douglas Edgar, a passenger from Barton Seagrave, Kettering, was tragically killed at the scene.
Driver in Hospital, HGV Driver Arrested
The van’s driver is currently receiving treatment in hospital. Meanwhile, the HGV driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has been released under investigation as police continue their inquiries.
