Michael Stanley, 67, of Resolution Close, Walderslade, is accused of defrauding members of the Layezy Racing group between 2013 and 2019.
He was arrested in August 2019 and has now been charged with the following offences after a complex investigation by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate:
- One count of dishonestly making false representations to members of the Layezy Racing syndicate contrary to Sections 1 and 2 of the Fraud Act 2006.
- One count of knowingly running a business for a fraudulent purpose contrary to Section 9 of the Fraud Act 2006.
- Three counts of knowingly running a business for a fraudulent purpose contrary to Section 993 of the Companies Act 2006.
Mr Stanley has been bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 7 March 2024.
