Gun Hoaxer Jailed After Cops Find Arsenal at Penge Home
A crook caught red-handed with a stash of deadly weapons has been locked up for five years.
Five Guns and Ammo Seized at Penge Home
Ross Knox, 30, from High Street, Penge, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, 22 September. Police discovered two shotguns, two revolvers, a handgun, and a heap of ammo during a raid on 15 May. The swoop was part of a broader crackdown on illegal firearms.
Pleading Guilty to Heavy Firearms Charges
Knox admitted to five counts of possessing prohibited firearms and five counts of having ammunition without a legal certificate. The haul was found after officers executed a warrant under Section 46 of the Firearms Act during a proactive operation.
Met Police Vow to Tackle Gun Crime Relentlessly
“Officers across London are working around the clock to locate and remove weapons from the streets of London,” said Detective Constable Jamie Kirby of the Met’s South Area Command Unit.
“There is no good reason to have deadly weapons like those found in Knox’s address, other than to cause serious harm.”
“Tackling violent crime is a priority for the Met and we remain committed to bringing anyone who carries or holds firearms and other lethal weapons to justice.”
