Three Schoolgirls Charged After Shocking Knife Attack in Quiet Village Park
Teen Girl Stabbed in Whittington Park Horror
On the evening of September 21 last year, a peaceful park in Whittington, Worcester, turned into a crime scene. A 14-year-old girl was stabbed around 7:40pm and returned home covered in blood. Paramedics rushed her to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Thankfully, doctors confirmed she suffered no internal injuries, but the brutal attack left serious scars.
Police Race to Crack the Case
West Mercia Police swiftly sealed off Whittington Park between The Tara and Clews Close. Officers launched an urgent probe into the violent stabbing that has sent shockwaves through the community.
“I know this incident has shocked the local community, and I’d like to reassure you that we’re working hard to understand what happened,” said Detective Inspector Sharon Wallace-Rathmell.
Three Teenage Girls Now Face Charges
- A 14-year-old and a 12-year-old girl have been charged with possession of a knife or sharp object in public and wounding with intent.
- A 13-year-old girl faces assault charges and is due to appear at Worcester Youth Court on April 8.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) approved the charges after reviewing the police investigation. Court dates for the stabbing charges are yet to be announced.
“The CPS received a file from West Mercia Police and are now reviewing the case details,” a CPS spokesperson confirmed.
