County Lines Drug Gang Nabbed in Bedford

Three men have been slammed with hefty jail terms for running a ruthless Class A drug operation across Bedford and beyond.

Six Years for Top Dealers, Three for the Runner

At Luton Crown Court, Louis Gerrard, 25, of no fixed abode, and Arjun Singh, 25, from Kempston Road, Bedford, both copped six years each after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Their mate Louis Chedworth, 34, from Marsh Lane, Bedford, got three years for the same offence.

Police Crack Down on County Lines Network

The trio’s arrest followed several police raids across Bedford in March, where officers seized drugs and mobile phones. Expert phone analysis revealed their involvement in a county lines drug ring—a brutal setup where gangs push drugs from big cities into smaller towns using dedicated phone lines.

  • Text messages showed clear evidence of drug deals.
  • Phone data tracked their movements precisely.
  • In October 2019, Singh was caught in cambridge/" title="Cambridge" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Cambridge with wraps of Class A drugs.
  • Chedworth was busted in Hertfordshire carrying 39 wraps of cocaine and eight of heroin in December.

Exploiting the Vulnerable Earns Harsher Sentences

Two county lines linked Bedford to Cambridge. Police highlighted the gang’s exploitation of young people to push drugs as an aggravating factor in Gerrard and Singh’s sentencing. Bedfordshire cops are now going after a slavery and trafficking prevention order to clamp down on any human trafficking links.

They’re also aiming to impose a drug dealing telecommunications restriction order (DDTRO) to freeze the drug phones, cutting off the gang’s communication channels.
