High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Selby
Just after 1pm on Tuesday 19 December 2023, officers were tipped off about a suspicious vehicle near Selby believed to be driving on cloned number plates.
Dangerous Driving Sparks Police Pursuit
Specialist Operations officers quickly spotted the car. It refused to stop and sped recklessly through Selby town centre. A police car finally boxed it in on Leeds Road, forcing it to a halt just before 1.30pm.
Multiple Arrests Made After Selby Chase
- A man in his 20s was arrested for dangerous and disqualified driving, failing to stop, drug driving, possession of a class-B drug, vehicle theft, and driving without insurance. He’s charged with several offences and remanded in custody to face court today.
- A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and shoplifting. He’s charged with theft and attempted theft and is also due in court today.
- A 42-year-old woman was arrested for suspicion of vehicle theft. She was interviewed and released under investigation.
