Three Nabbed in Surrey Ghost Line Bust
Three drug suspects have been slapped with a total of 14 years and two months behind bars for running the notorious Ghost county line in Surrey. Abdi Muhamed, 36, Nicola Shine, 41, and Younus Tayyib, 27, were convicted of conspiring to supply class A drugs.
Ghost Line Still Haunting Surrey
Despite arrests of several drug runners, detectives uncovered that the Ghost line kept operating last year. A deep dive into phone data pointed straight to Tayyib and Shine. Last November, officers swooped on Tayyib’s addresses and arrested Shine while she was caught with 37 wraps of cocaine and heroin hidden in her clothing in Dorking.
Burner Phones and Crack Cocaine Seized
Muhamed was nabbed at the same Hayes address as Tayyib. Both were caught with burner phones used to run the Ghost operation. Police also found 23 grams of crack cocaine stashed in Tayyib’s bedroom at his family home in Ealing.
No Excuses, Guilty Verdicts
Muhamed claimed the burner phone was for contacting “numerous secret girlfriends,” but the jury wasn’t buying it. They found him guilty as charged.
“The Ghost county line has been prolific in Surrey over the past couple of years,” said Detective Constable Martin O’Neill. “After putting away several runners, we targeted the masterminds running the line remotely from different counties.”
DC O’Neill added, “If you’re plying drugs in Surrey, expect us to hunt you down and bring you to justice. You don’t even have to be caught with drugs to be convicted. We will keep cracking down on dealers – it’s just not worth the risk.”
