Tommy Robinson will dodge criminal charges over an alleged assault at St Pancras station, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has revealed. The far-right activist, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was arrested but won’t face trial after the complainant refused to back the claim.
Arrest Made at Luton Airport
The 42-year-old was hauled in at Luton Airport on 4 August following the alleged attack on 28 July at St Pancras. British Transport Police (BTP) immediately launched a probe, grabbing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements.
Victim Refuses to Cooperate
Despite a thorough investigation, the alleged victim chose not to give a formal statement. A BTP spokesperson said:
“After a reported assault on July 28 at St Pancras station, detectives swiftly arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of GBH at Luton Airport on 4 August.
Officers gathered evidence including CCTV and witness accounts, but the victim declined to participate.
We passed the file to the CPS, who decided that without a realistic chance of conviction, no charges would be brought.”
Tommy Robinson’s Troubled Past
Robinson, ex-leader of the English Defence League (EDL), has a checkered history with the law, including convictions for assault, fraud, and contempt of court. This fresh allegation will now not move forward, police confirmed.
The controversial figure walks away uncharged — for now.
