Lake Town Councillor’s Daughter Caught with Knife, Assaults Cop in Ryde Chaos

A councillor’s daughter from a Lake town has pleaded guilty to carrying a knife in public, wounding with intent, and assaulting a police officer following a dramatic incident in Ryde last month.

Knife Scare on Ryde High Street

On the evening of 20 January, Hampshire Constabulary were called to Ryde High Street at around 9.30pm after reports of a woman blocking traffic and causing concern for her welfare.

Good Samaritan Attacked

Police revealed a man who tried to help the distressed woman was assaulted during the ordeal.

21-year-old Catherine Ann Whittaker, daughter of a local councillor, admitted the charges and is set to be sentenced on 26 April.
