Tragic Death of Man as Tree Crashes onto Car Near Micheldever
A heartbreaking tribute has been paid to Kenneth Macartney, who died after a tree fell on his car near Micheldever.
Fatal Incident on A33
The 58-year-old was driving his Mercedes along the A33 from Winchester to Micheldever just before 4pm on Sunday, February 9, when a tree suddenly toppled onto his vehicle.
Kenneth, from Popham Court Road, Micheldever, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute
Specialist officers have been supporting his grieving family. In a moving statement, they said:
“Ken was born in Belfast in 1961 and moved to England at 18 to pursue a career in retail. He married Mandy in 2000 and is a loving stepfather to Laura.
“He owned Pavilion, a popular clothes shop in Winchester, and was a respected member of the Winchester BID.
“Ken was proud to call Winchester home for 25 happy years. He was passionate about his family, dogs, football, and chocolate. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.”
