Liam Wells nabbed for spate of thefts on Riverview estate
Crime spree hits local neighbourhood
Liam Wells, 28, is accused of carrying out a string of thefts around the Riverview estate. Most incidents happened on one hectic Sunday – 21 February 2022.
Kent Police swoop fast
Once reports hit the desk, Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad launched a swift investigation. The team quickly secured a warrant and arrested Wells at his home on Tuesday 1 March.
Burglary and fraud charges stack up
- Two burglaries involving stolen cars and a bank card
- Bank card linked to a fraudulent transaction
- Thefts from three parked cars including handbag, sunglasses and pricey cosmetics
- 10 attempted burglaries
- 10 counts of vehicle interference
- Theft of tools from a motor vehicle on 17 February
Next court date set
Wells, from St Albans Gardens, was remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 3 March. He was further remanded and is due to face Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday 31 March.
