Two Jailed Over Smuggled Guns Hidden in Microwave
Edward Pink, 46, from Lambeth, and Cadien Pink, 41, of Surrey, were locked up after being found guilty at Croydon Crown Court. The pair conspired to possess firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Loaded Pistols Discovered in Florida Parcel
On June 28, 2022, US authorities intercepted a suspicious parcel from Florida destined for a Newham business address. The parcel contained a microwave housing four loaded pistols – two Glock 19 Gen 5s, a Glock 17 Gen 5, and a Taurus G2C – plus 59 rounds of ammo. All guns had their serial numbers removed.
The weapons were seized, and US officials alerted the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command. A joint investigation led to the Pinks’ arrest on July 12, 2022.
Denied Involvement, But Evidence Sealed Their Fate
Cadien Pink claimed the firearms order was actually for hair clippers for his barbering business when confronted with incriminating voice notes instructing him to specify make and model. His defence fell flat.
“The Met has fantastic working relationships with partner law enforcement agencies all over the world,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ant Jones. “We have successfully prevented lethal weapons from hitting London’s streets and brought those responsible to justice.”
“Firearms are linked to gangs, drugs, and organised crime, and we will do everything possible to stop their supply.”
HSI London Attaché Tim Hemker praised the international teamwork. “Today’s sentences show how global collaboration can keep communities safe. We’ll keep fighting weapon smuggling and transnational crime.”
