Two Men Charged Over Canterbury Stabbing

Officers probing a serious assault in Canterbury have charged two men with possession of a bladed weapon.

Victim Stabbed in Canterbury Lane

Just before 10pm on Saturday 9 April 2022, a man was attacked by a group in Canterbury Lane. The victim suffered an injury consistent with a stab wound and was rushed to a local hospital, later being discharged.

Knife Seized on Train Near Ashford

During the investigation, police stopped two men travelling on a train through Ashford and seized a knife. Enquiries into the assault are ongoing, with officers urging anyone who witnessed the attack or has information to come forward.

Suspects Remanded, Court Date Set

  • Troy Reid, 19, of Bellenden Road, Peckham, south London, faces charges of possession of a bladed article and possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
  • Ramone Thompson, 22, of Peckham Rye, Peckham, south London, is charged with possession of a bladed article.

Both men appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 April 2022 and were remanded in custody. Their case returns to Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 9 May.
