Merseyside Police and Jersey Customs Nab Two in Major Drug Haul Bust

A high-powered joint operation between Merseyside Police and Jersey Customs & Immigration Service (JCIS) has landed two men on serious drug charges linked to smuggling cocaine from Liverpool to Jersey.

Two Arrested in Crackdown on County Lines Cocaine Smuggling

  • Aaron Nursaw, 32, of Anfield, taken in by Project Medusa officers and flown back to Jersey to face charges for importing cocaine.
  • Ibrahim Roslan, 34, from Wirral, arrested earlier, charged with smuggling £80,000 worth of cocaine in 2022, pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing next March.

Nursaw was caught in Anfield and faces court today, Thursday 19 October. Roslan had already been picked up in Jersey after fleeing the island following an initial arrest. Police found a stash of MDMA at Roslan’s Liverpool home during the investigation.

Project Medusa Hits Back At County Lines Crime

Detective Sergeant Carl Lynch warned that organised crime rings destroy communities through violence and intimidation. Speaking on the sting operation, Lynch said:

“Project Medusa is our dedicated response to tackling county lines. Our officers are committed to shutting these operations down and taking dangerous offenders off the streets — all while supporting vulnerable people exploited by these gangs.”

Since 2019, Project Medusa has smashed 1,101 county lines and arrested over 2,400 suspects involved in drugs, firearms, and money laundering. The initiative also identified and safeguarded over 1,200 vulnerable adults and children.
