Drunken thugs smash heads with vodka bottle in horror rampage across town
Violence spree shocks West Midlands
Jardel Faure, 24, and Mark Harris, 20, went on a brutal bender on 21 October 2021. The Cradley Heath duo admitted to a string of savage attacks after a night of heavy drinking.
Ten offences, three locations, one terrifying night
- Started drinking in Stourbridge town centre at 4pm
- Boarded bus to Brierley Hill and verbally abused a woman
- Smashed her over the head with a vodka bottle
- Repeated attacks on her rescuers
- Moved on to Merry Hill bus station to assault a 16-year-old boy
The teenager suffered painful cuts and bruises to his face and ribs after being kicked and bitten.
Justice served: harsh jail time for violent offenders
Faure was handed 36 months behind bars. Harris was sentenced to 33 months in a Young Offenders’ Institution. Both pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and affray at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 22 November.
“This was a truly nasty string of unprovoked and brutal attacks,” said DS Drew Turner from the Volume, Violence and Acquisitive Crime team.
“These offenders travelled to three different locations to carry out their appalling crimes, which caused significant physical and emotional harm to their victims. Violence like this is completely unacceptable and we welcome news of this sentencing.”
