76 Kilos of Cocaine Seized in Essex Drug Bust

Officers from the Organised Crime Partnership – a joint taskforce of the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Metropolitan Police – have smashed a major drugs operation, recovering 76 kilos of cocaine during a months-long investigation.

Essex Duo Caught in High-Stakes Drug Deal

Christopher Low from Chipping Ongar masterminded the cocaine collection, with help from Michael Henson of Harlow, who funded the deals with large cash sums. Surveillance last September caught Low driving a Mercedes between his home and Henson’s, before picking up a Jaguar XF.

Low then headed to Brentford, where he collected a suitcase from a Land Rover Discovery driver. Inside was 40kg of cocaine, worth an eye-watering £3.2 million.

Massive Haul and Cash Found in Raids

  • Low arrested; £44,420 in cash and £5,600 worth of Class A drugs seized at his home
  • Henson’s address yielded 37kg of cocaine (£2.96m), £69,800 cash, plus mephedrone and herbal cannabis

“Class A drugs like cocaine have no place in our society, where they cause exploitation and suffering. Through this strong partnership between the NCA and the Met, we will continue to pursue organised criminals like Low and Henson and bring them to justice.” – Organised Crime Partnership Spokesperson

Thanks to joint efforts, two major players in a lucrative drug ring are now behind bars, and piles of cash and narcotics off the streets.
