Knife Threats Land Newbury Duo Behind Bars

Jake Bozarth, 18, and Jake Blandford, 19, both from Newbury, have been jailed after pleading guilty to intimidating a witness and threatening with a blade in a public place. The sentencing took place at Reading Crown Court on Monday, March 18.

Witness Intimidation in Dickens Walk

The shocking incident unfolded on September 11, 2023, at around 2:05pm on Dickens Walk, Nightingales Estate. Police were called after a man in his twenties was menaced with a knife. The victim had already suffered serious violence earlier in May and was cooperating with an ongoing police investigation.

Swift Arrests and Strong Sentences

  • Bozarth and Blandford were arrested just days later on September 14 and charged the following day.
  • Returning to court on Wednesday, May 15, Bozarth was handed a hefty sentence of two years and four months behind bars.
  • Blandford received a 10-month prison term.
