Brutal Hostel Raid: Two Attack Resident and Steal Valuables in Nottingham
Vicious Assault at Nottingham Hostel
Jack Dennis, 21, and Gervais Davis, 20, launched a savage attack on a fellow resident in a Nottingham hostel in the early hours of 28 November 2021. The pair barged into the victim’s room on London Road around 1am, viciously beating him before grabbing his Nike trainers, jeans, two mobile phones, bank card, and food.
Menacing Threats to Silence Victim
At Nottingham Crown Court, it emerged they knocked on the door asking for a cigarette. When told to wait outside, they ignored the request and forced their way in. Dennis put the man in a headlock, dragged him to his knees, and punched him repeatedly in the ribs while Davis rifled through his belongings.
Dennis then threatened to stab the victim 18 times if he told anyone. He also warned that if the police got involved, he would arrange for the man to be raped.
CCTV Exposure Leads to Arrest and Jail
CCTV footage caught Dennis and Davis entering the victim’s room at the time of the attack. Both initially denied involvement but later pleaded guilty. Dennis, of no fixed address, was sentenced to four years and three months. Davis, also homeless, received four years behind bars.
Police Condemn ‘Despicable’ Crime
Detective Constable Bethanie Foster, Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Dennis and Davis preyed on a vulnerable victim for their own selfish gain. It was a despicable act. I’d like to thank the victim for providing evidence so these men could be removed from the streets.
This violent, targeted crime against vulnerable people will not be tolerated. Nottinghamshire Police will do everything to protect the public from offenders like Dennis and Davis.”
