Two people arrested in Folkestone rape investigation

Two people have been arrested by Kent Police detectives investigating a report a woman was raped in Folkestone. Several items are also reported to have been stolen from the victim during the incident, which took place in Payers Park at around 12.30am on Wednesday 23 October 2019. On Sunday 27 October officers arrested a 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Folkestone, as part of their enquiries. The man was arrested on suspicion of rape and theft and the woman was arrested on suspicion of theft. Both have been bailed, pending further enquiries. As part of their ongoing work detectives are keen to speak with a man who came to victim’s aid following the incident but has not yet made himself known to officers. The man, and anyone else who may have information, is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/203464/19.
