Man and Woman Arrested After Waterlooville Shooting
Police have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Waterlooville just after midnight on Monday, February 13. The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.
Early Morning Attack Sparks Major Police Response
The shooting took place around 12:50am on Athena Avenue. Armed police swooped shortly after, arresting a 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman at a property in High Lawn Way, Havant, at about 2:25am.
Investigation Underway With Two Crime Scenes In Place
Detective Superintendent Darren Rawlings, leading the probe, said: “This kind of incident is luckily rare in Hampshire and one we take very seriously.”
He warned residents to expect a significant police presence as officers work to reassure the community and piece together what happened. Two crime scenes remain active — the shooting location and the arrest address.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers urge anyone with information or who witnessed the shooting to call 101 quoting Operation Endorse or speak directly to police in the area.
