Nottingham Car Theft Spree Ends with Arrest

Police sprang into action shortly after 8am on Sunday when a car was stolen from a supermarket car park on Castle Bridge Road, Nottingham.

Crash and Second Theft in Aspley

The stolen vehicle crashed on Beckley Road, Aspley, where the thief jumped out and swiped a second car from outside a house at around 8.30am.

Suspect Caught After Abandoned Car

The second stolen vehicle was dumped moments later in Meredith Close, The Meadows. A 42-year-old man was arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of theft and burglary. He has since been released on bail.

Ongoing Investigations

The burglary charge relates to a separate incident earlier that morning in The Meadows. Fortunately, no one was injured during the crime spree.

Sergeant John Meanwell of Nottinghamshire Police praised his team: “This was an extremely challenging incident to deal with and the officers involved did a great job in tracking this suspect and bringing him into custody.”
