Crime Squad Nabs Duo in East Kent Medication Burglary Spree

Burglary Conspiracy Charges Unveiled

The Crown Prosecution Service has hit Ruth Lambert, 32, and Jessica Silvester, 29, both from Gap Road, Margate, with charges of conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal.

Stretching Back Over Three Years of Theft

The charges follow a probe by the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad into a string of distraction burglaries across east Kent. Between 31 May 2020 and 3 August 2021, the suspects allegedly stole large quantities of medication from various properties.

Both women face additional charges for conspiring to steal medication and other valuables from victims dating back to 31 May 2018, stretching the investigation over three years.

Suspects in Custody Ahead of Court Appearance

Lambert and Silvester remain in police custody. They are scheduled to appear at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 6 August.
