Two Charged Over Spate of Car Thefts in Folkestone
Police Target Crime Wave
Two men have been charged following a string of thefts from cars in and around Folkestone. Lewis Bennett, 27, and Kai Hubbard, 21, face multiple counts after a wave of offences rocked the area.
Details of the Charges
- Lewis Bennett, from The Bayle, Folkestone, is charged with five counts of theft, six counts of fraud, and one count of burglary. The thefts reportedly took place from 1 to 7 September 2020 in Hawkinge and Folkestone. His burglary charge relates to an incident in Dymchurch on 12 August.
- Kai Hubbard, 21, of Nash Hill, Folkestone, faces four counts each of theft and fraud plus one count of robbery. The robbery happened in Roman Way, Folkestone, on 16 August.
Court Appearances and Next Steps
Both suspects appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 9 September. They were remanded in custody and are due to face Canterbury Crown Court on 12 October.
