Teens Guilty of Murdering Huddersfield Boy Khayri
Two Huddersfield teenagers, aged 15 and 17, have been found guilty in the stabbing death of young Khayri. The 17-year-old was convicted today at Leeds Crown Court, while his 15-year-old accomplice pleaded guilty before the trial began.
Fatal Stab on Woodhouse Hill
Khayri was walking along Woodhouse Hill in Huddersfield on September 21 last year when the two males approached him. He was stabbed once in the chest. Despite first aid at the scene and emergency surgery at Leeds General Infirmary, Khayri sadly died.
Court to Sentence Both Teens Soon
The boys will be sentenced together at a later date. Authorities are unable to name them due to their ages.
Police Pay Tribute to Khayri and Family
“We welcome the jury’s verdict today and will now await the sentencing of both youths for Khayri’s murder,” said Detective Superintendent Marc Bowes, who led the investigation. “We are thinking of Khayri’s family as they come to terms with the news and will continue to support them.”
