Violent Car Thieves Busted After Filming Brutal Dartford Attacks

Masked Thugs Snatch Cars and Trash Victims

Two ruthless car thieves terrorised Dartford in a violent spree caught on camera. Lewis Turner and Thomas Ripley didn’t just rob cars – they recorded their savage crimes, flaunting stolen vehicles before trying to sell them.

On 4 September 2024, a man parked on Dartford Heath was ambushed. Masked attackers smashed the driver’s window, punched him, dragged him out, then stole his red Seat Ibiza and keys. Just four days later, a similar daylight robbery unfolded in a layby. Thugs in a white Ford Focus tricked a resting driver, beat him with punches and a metal bar, then made off with his Audi TT and bank card – the card was used less than an hour later in Orpington.

Police Nail Gangs with Phone Evidence and CCTV

Ripley’s luck ran out when cops raided his Orpington home on 13 September. Officers seized keys to another stolen car with false plates and found a phone packed with texts linking him to Turner and a third man, Billy Scamp, plotting the robberies and car sales.

Turner and Scamp were arrested on 3 October after police tracked their movements via cell site data. CCTV showed Turner using the stolen bank card, sealing their fate.
