Frenzied Stabbing Under Railway Bridge Shocks High Wycombe

Tyrell James, 24, viciously stabbed Karl Stanislaus 38 times, leaving him with 56 knife wounds across his head, neck, torso, arms, and leg. The brutal attack happened on 5 September 2023 beneath a disused railway bridge on the outskirts of High Wycombe.

Cold-Blooded Killer Found Guilty at Reading Crown Court

At Reading Crown Court, James—formerly of Hawksmoor Close, High Wycombe—was convicted of this savage, frenzied murder. A member of the public discovered the critically injured Mr Stanislaus on Bowden Lane and desperately tried to save him with CPR. Sadly, Mr Stanislaus died at the scene from unsurvivable injuries.

James Also Admits Separate Knife Attack

James has also pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possession of an offensive weapon after stabbing another man in his 30s in December 2022. He will be sentenced for both crimes at Reading Crown Court on 30 April.

Detective Hails Jury’s Verdict After ‘One of the Worst Attacks Seen’

“The frenzied and ferocious nature of this attack is without a doubt one of the worst I have ever seen. There can be little doubt James intended to kill that night,” said DCI Stuart Brangwin of the Major Crime Unit.

“The injuries sustained were unsurvivable. It was a shocking attack. I thank the jury for delivering justice by finding this dangerous man guilty.

“I would also like to pay tribute to Mr Stanislaus’s family, who have endured months of anguish during this investigation. I am humbled by their patience and dignity throughout this process.”
