Brutal Attack: Man Stabbed 38 Times and Left to Die Under Railway Bridge
Tyrell James, 24, launched a savage knife attack on Karl Stanislaus, stabbing him 38 times. The victim suffered 56 wounds to his head, neck, torso, arms, and leg before being left for dead beneath a deserted railway bridge near High Wycombe on 5 September 2023.
Reading Crown Court Convicts for Frenzied Murder
At Reading Crown Court, James, formerly of Hawksmoor Close, High Wycombe, was found guilty of this brutal and frenzied murder. A passerby discovered Mr Stanislaus in Bowden Lane and desperately tried to save him with CPR. Despite their efforts, the injuries were too severe, and he died at the scene.
James Also Guilty of Separate Knife Attack
James has also admitted to grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon stemming from a separate stabbing incident in December 2022, where a man in his 30s was targeted.
He is set to be sentenced at Reading Crown Court on 30 April.
Detective Praises Jury and Pays Tribute to Victim’s Family
“The frenzied and ferocious nature of this attack is one of the worst I have ever seen,” said DCI Stuart Brangwin of the Major Crime Unit. “There is no doubt James intended to kill Mr Stanislaus that night.”
“The injuries were unsurvivable. It was a shocking attack, and I thank the jury for finding this dangerous man guilty.”
“I want to pay tribute to Mr Stanislaus’s family, who have shown incredible patience and dignity throughout this painful investigation.”
