Two Isle of Wight fire crews rushed to Captains Parade, East Cowes, just after 6am following a kitchen fire caused by unattended cooking.

Cooking Left Unattended Sparks Fire

The resident fell back to sleep while a small pan on the cooker caught alight, triggering smoke alarms and prompting the emergency call.

Firefighters Forced Entry and Tamed Flames

Crews from East Cowes and Newport forced entry into the property to tackle the blaze. They quickly removed the smoking pan and used positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke.

Occupants Escape Without Injury

Thankfully, the sleepy occupants of the flat escaped unharmed, avoiding what could have been a much worse incident.
