Drugs Kingpin Flushed Cocaine Down Toilet During Raid

Paul Adams’s drug empire went down the drain quite literally. When Kent and Essex Serious Crime officers stormed his Gillingham home in October 2020, they caught him red-handed flushing bags of white powder—later confirmed as cocaine—straight down the toilet.

Stash Hidden in Nappies and Cereal Boxes

The search didn’t stop there. Detectives uncovered piles of cash hidden in nappies and cereal boxes. Then they hit Adams’s business premises on Maritime Way and Gads Hill, where they seized more drugs, phones, and supplies used for dealing. In total, 4kg of Class A and B drugs were found.

Seven Years Behind Bars and £58k Confiscated

Adams, 34, faced multiple charges including intent to possess Class A drugs, possession and supply of Class B drugs, and holding criminal property. In May 2021, he pleaded guilty and was locked up for seven years.

In June 2022, Maidstone Crown Court ordered Adams to forfeit £58,166—his current assets—under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Police Warn Criminals: Crime Doesn’t Pay

No one should be allowed to benefit financially from committing crime,” said Detective Inspector Dave Godfrey of Kent Police’s Economic Crime Unit. “We will work tirelessly to recover any ill-gotten gains.”

“This case is a stark warning to anyone considering profiting from criminal activity.”

The recovered cash will be split between Kent Police and the Home Office under the Asset Recovery Incentivisation Scheme (ARIS), boosting efforts to tackle crime across the region.
