Rayon Pennycook Murder: Police Win 36-Hour Custody Extension for Teen Suspects

Detectives investigating the shock stabbing murder of Rayon Pennycook have secured a crucial 36-hour extension to quiz three teens arrested in connection with his death.

Tragic Stabbing in Corby

Officers rushed to Constable Road just before 7pm on Tuesday, May 25, after reports that Rayon had been stabbed. Paramedics battled to save him but he died shortly after arriving at the scene.

Three boys – aged 17, 17, and 15 – were arrested the same evening on suspicion of murder. Thanks to the extension granted by magistrates on Thursday, May 27, all three will remain in custody until Friday evening, May 28.

Snapchat Footage Appeal

Detectives are urgently hunting for Snapchat footage possibly capturing the stabbing before, during, or just after the attack.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Pete Long said: “Our investigation into the death of Rayon Pennycook is progressing well. A large team of detectives is working around the clock to bring those responsible to justice.

“We have heard rumours that the incident may have been filmed on Snapchat, but so far we have no solid evidence.

“I urge anyone with any footage or information to come forward. Parents in Corby should check with their children about anything suspicious on social media.”

“The Corby community is tight-knit, and we know they want to help. If you know something, please reach out. You can stay anonymous – we just need the information.”
