Vile Predator Jailed for Attempted Rape at King’s Cross
A “vile predator” has been locked up for trying to rape a woman while she slept at King’s Cross station. Amer Mohamed, 31, a man with no fixed address, was found guilty of attempted rape at Inner London Crown Court on 20 July after a tough British Transport Police (BTP) probe.
Harsh Sentence for Horrific Crime
On 19 October, Mohamed was sentenced to 11 years behind bars, plus five years on licence. The judge made it clear the sentence reflects the brutal nature of his crime.
Terrifying Attack at King’s Cross
The attack happened in the early hours of 23 July 2022, around 5am. Mohamed approached the victim, whom he had never met, as she slept peacefully. She woke to find him exposing himself and trying to force himself on her.
The brave victim fought back, trying to stop Mohamed. But he overpowered her and continued the assault for 30 minutes until her friend woke and intervened.
Justice Served as Predator Shows No Remorse
Later that morning, the victim reported the attack to BTP officers. She quickly identified Mohamed, leading to his arrest on the spot.
During police questioning, Mohamed made a chilling claim — that sex with someone asleep is “acceptable” because “they aren’t dead.” His shocking words revealed zero remorse.
Detective Constable Rachel Parfitt praised the victim’s courage and the dedication of the BTP team. She said, “It is beyond contemptible that he has not only shown a complete lack of remorse for his actions but actively tried to defend himself, claiming on record that it’s fine to have sex with someone if they are asleep.”
DC Parfitt added that offenders like Mohamed will be relentlessly pursued and face the full force of the law.
