Night Out Turns into Brutal Attack for Whittlesey Woman
Dominic Bevilacqua, 25, transformed a night of fun into a violent nightmare. On November 4, at their Anglers Avenue home in Whittlesey, he suddenly “switched” and savagely attacked his on-off partner. She recalls him grabbing her by the hair and dragging her off the bed without warning.
Relentless Assault: Punches and Strangulation
Bevilacqua unleashed a brutal assault, hammering her face with relentless punches and strangling her. He didn’t stop there—kicking and hitting until she managed a desperate escape. Terrified, she drove herself home and sought hospital treatment the very next day.
Locked Up and Banned from Contacting Victim
Police moved fast, arresting Bevilacqua two days after the attack, on November 6. Despite his attempts to pin the blame on the victim, justice was served. On January 23, Peterborough Magistrates’ Court sentenced him to 20 months in jail for actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation.
He was also slapped with an indefinite restraining order, banning any contact with the victim.
“Bevilacqua launched a brutal and cowardly attack and then tried to blame the victim so it’s great he’s been brought to justice,” said DC Yeli Zaicevs, lead investigator. “Domestic abuse is a force priority, and we’ll continue to do everything we can to put perpetrators in front of the courts.”
