Daniel Abed Khalife, 21, is set to face Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 11 September. He’s charged with a daring prison escape and more.
Escaped from Wandsworth Prison
On 6 September 2023, Khalife broke out of Wandsworth Prison while awaiting trial. He was remanded in custody after a hearing at the Central Criminal Court on 21 July 2023. His escape breaks common law and sparked a manhunt.
Captured Near Northolt Towpath
Police finally caught Khalife on Saturday, 9 September. He was found lurking near the towpath by Rowdell Road, Northolt. The arrest followed a major operation led by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
Charged and Back in Custody
Just one day later, on Sunday, 10 September, Khalife was formally charged. The case ramps up ahead of his upcoming court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
