Brooklands Lake Lockdown as Hunt for Missing Man Intensifies
Police shut down Brooklands Lake in Dartford this morning (April 28) during a major search for Wayne Parchment, missing for nearly three weeks.
Kent Police confirmed the lake was closed at 7am while specialist teams scoured the area. The lake is now open again, but fishing remains banned for the foreseeable future.
Who Is Wayne Parchment?
Wayne Parchment, 61, vanished on Thursday, April 10, from the Spital Street area in Dartford. Described as a mixed-race man about 6ft tall, he is bald with a grey short beard and moustache.
At the time he disappeared, Wayne wore black jogging bottoms, a grey top, a dark blue jacket, and black shoes. He’s known to frequent Central Park, Brooklands Lake, Lowfield Street, and Princes Road.
Wayne often carries a lanyard with two keys around his neck and might walk with a shuffle. Authorities fear for his welfare, especially as he can sometimes become confused.
Massive Search Effort Underway
Specialist teams, Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, and aerial support from the National Police Air Service have all joined the hunt. Despite exhaustive efforts and public appeals, Wayne remains missing.
Police urge local residents near Brooklands Lake and Central Park to check their gardens, sheds, and outbuildings for any sign of Wayne seeking shelter.

Officers continue to ask anyone who has seen Wayne or knows anything about his whereabouts to get in touch immediately.
