A terrifying four-car pile-up on Whalebone Lane South, Dagenham, last night saw one vehicle flip onto its side, trapping a woman inside. Emergency crews raced to the scene at 7.15pm on April 30 after a serious collision was reported.
Shocking clips shared on social media reveal a white car lying on its side, while another car is jammed against a bus, wrecked in the chaos.
Firefighters spring into action
The London Fire Brigade sent two fire engines and a specialist rescue unit from Ilford and East Ham. Their spokesperson said:
“Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Whalebone Lane South in Dagenham. Four vehicles were involved in a collision, with one overturning onto its side. Firefighters released a woman who had become trapped inside a vehicle.”
The rescue team had the situation under control within 20 minutes, working from 7.18pm to clear the scene by 7.39pm.
The woman’s condition remains unknown. Police and the London Ambulance Service are investigating and have yet to confirm any arrests.

Locals heard a loud smash followed by blaring sirens as emergency services rushed to the busy Dagenham road. The dramatic impact caused temporary road closures throughout the evening rush hour, sparking delays.
