Woman, 40s, Faces Life-Changing Injuries After Horrific Bus Smash on Valentine’s Day
A woman in her 40s suffered devastating, life-altering injuries after being hit by a bus while crossing Padmore Street in Worcester on Valentine’s Day evening.
Collision Shocks Worcester on Busy Evening
The crash took place at around 6:30 pm on February 14. Emergency services rushed to the scene after witnesses described a “horrifying moment” when the woman was struck and thrown to the ground.
West Mercia Police confirm the woman sustained severe injuries. The West Midlands Ambulance Service deployed multiple units, including an ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Midland Air Ambulance critical care car from Strensham.
“On arrival, crews treated the victim before rushing her under blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham,” said an ambulance spokesperson.
Driver Arrested Over Dangerous Driving
A 62-year-old man was held at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving while unfit due to drink or drugs.
Police say he has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
“The driver was taken into custody and questioned on suspicion of dangerous driving while under the influence. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries,” said a West Mercia Police spokesperson.

Officers urge anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage from Padmore Street between 6 pm and 7 pm on February 14 to come forward immediately.
