14-Year-Old Convicted of Manslaughter

A 14-year-old boy has been found guilty of manslaughter after fatally stabbing a man in Bristol over a row about a bike. The teenager, unnamed for legal reasons, ranks among the youngest ever convicted of manslaughter in the Avon and Somerset area.

Fatal Stabbing Over “Yo Bike”

The tragic attack unfolded on Friday 21 June around 5.30pm in Winkworth Place. Darren Edginton, 39, suffered a single stab wound to the chest and later died from his injuries. The court heard a dispute broke out over a “Yo Bike” that Mr Edginton was riding but which the teenager and his friends claimed was theirs.

Dispute Led to Deadly Encounter

The teenager and Mr Edginton confronted each other in a secluded lane near Grosvenor Road, St Pauls. What started as an argument quickly turned violent, ending in the fatal stabbing.
