86-Year-Old Man Arrested in 30-Year-Old Double Murder Case
South Wales Police have made a breakthrough in a chilling cold case. An 86-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the brutal murders of Harry and Megan Tooze, a mystery that has stumped investigators for more than three decades.
Couple Gunned Down at Their Secluded Farmhouse
Harry, 64, and Megan, 67, were found shot dead at their Ty Ar y Waun farmhouse in Llanharry on July 26, 1993. The shocking double killing sent shockwaves through the local community and remained a haunting unsolved case.
Forensic Breakthrough Leads to Arrest
After reopening the case in 2023, police conducted a fresh forensic review that finally yielded results. Detectives swooped this week to arrest the elderly suspect, who is now in custody as investigations continue.
“While this arrest is a significant development, our enquiries are ongoing,” said Detective Superintendent Mark Lewis.“This case has affected many people over the years. We want answers to the unanswered questions about their deaths over 30 years on. Even now, I urge anyone with information to come forward.”
