Woman in 60s Killed After Double-Decker Bus Crash in Islington
Detectives are hunting for witnesses and dashcam footage after a tragic collision in Islington claimed the life of a woman in her 60s.
Fatal Crash on Baron Street
The fatal incident unfolded around 2.25pm on Thursday, 3 October, at the junction of Baron Street and White Lion Street, N1. A double-decker bus collided with the pedestrian. Despite emergency services rushing to the scene and administering first aid, sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the spot. Her next of kin have been informed, with specially trained officers supporting them through this heartbreaking time.
Bus Driver Arrested on Suspicion of Careless Driving
The bus driver, a man in his 40s, stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has since been bailed pending further investigation.
