Teen Harry Kinney-Ryan Dies in Tragic East Lancs Road Crash
A tragic collision has claimed the life of 13-year-old Harry Kinney-Ryan. The teenager died at Alder Hey Hospital yesterday afternoon following an accident near Stonedale Retail Park.
Fatal Crash Near Showcase Cinema
The horror unfolded around 7.20pm on Wednesday, 7 December. A silver Vauxhall Astra estate struck Harry as he crossed near the Showcase cinema on East Lancashire Road.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from the Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Harry’s family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers as our enquiries continue. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
Officers have arrested a 34-year-old man who has been bailed pending further investigation into causing death by dangerous driving.
Police urge anyone who was near East Lancashire Road at the time and has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
