Two Teens Arrested Over Fatal Woolwich Stabbing
Fresh Arrests in Tamim Ian Habimana Murder
Detectives probing the tragic stabbing of 15-year-old Tamim Ian Habimana in Woolwich have arrested two more suspects. A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were taken into custody on Friday, 9 July, both held on suspicion of murder.
They remain held at a south London police station as the investigation ramps up.
Terrifying Attack on Woolwich New Road
Police rushed to Woolwich New Road on Monday, 5 July at 5:23pm following reports of a stabbing. Officers found Tamim with a single stab wound.
Despite emergency first aid and ambulance efforts, Tamim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene at 6:08pm. Specialist officers are supporting his grieving family.
Earlier, on Thursday, 8 July, another 15-year-old male was arrested and remains in custody, adding to the growing police enquiry.
Detectives Urge Public to Come Forward
“We have made two further arrests in this investigation and I hope this reassures both Tamim’s family and the wider community of our dedication to bringing justice for his murder,” said Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard.
He pleaded: “My team have been working hard to establish the circumstances of what happened. I urge anyone with information, including footage or images, to come forward.”
